Session for the day: An open discussion on climate change, to bridge the gap across the divides, using a blended behavioural science, design and systems approach. This event was hosted on 17 March 2021 from 4:00 pm at Victoria University, Wellington NZ.
We have some big messy climate and environmental challenges to face, together. A conversation is emerging about the amount of distance there is between policy formation, its intent and the impact it has on stakeholders on a systems basis. As a result, distance is increasing between different parts of our society creating reactance and loss of agency and perhaps an element of dehumanisation in the dialogue between “in” and “out” groups.
How can we use a blended behavioural design and systems mapping approach to increase empathy, agency and impact for improving the humanisation of dialogue?
